Iran-Russia Ink Sports Co-op Agreement

Moscow, April 18, IRNA – The minister of sports and youth affairs underlined promoting cooperation in the fields of research and sports between Tehran and Moscow. In a meeting with Chancellor of Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Alexander Belyayev, he said that Russia has good experience in educating sports champions and there are also numerous areas of cooperation between the university and Iran’s Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry. Iran, too, has made good achievements in the fields of educating champions and sharing the experience will benefit both countries, he said. Belyayev, for his part, appreciated Abbasi’s presence in the university and said that the university with a history of 100 years is considered the most important university in Europe wherein Iranian students are studying. He hoped for promoting educational and research exchanges and cooperation between Iranian and Russian teams. Abbasi, who is in Moscow to attend the World’s Sports Ministers Summit, visited the university’s various sections./end
