Iranian imports from USA up by 125 percent

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jun.24/ Trend R.Zamanov/ Iran imported some 4,000 tons of goods worth over 18.6 million dollars from the United States of America in the first two months of the current year, which started on March 21, the ISNA News Agency reported. The figures show 125 and 11 percent increase in terms of weight and value, respectively, in comparison to the same period of time the previous year. Butter, food and medicine supplements were Iran's main imported items. Tehran also exported 42 tons of goods worth 106,000 dollars to the USA in the mentioned period. Raisin, carpet, and saffron were the exported items. Iran also imported 126,127 tons of goods worth 55.6 million dollars from the UK in the first two months of current year. Compared to the same period of time previous year, the figures show 20,235 percent and 180 percent increase in terms of weight and value, respectively. Based on the latest figures released by Iran's Customs Administration, Britain was the world's 14th and the Europe's 7th largest exporter of goods to Iran in the mentioned period. Iran also exported 9,208 tons of goods worth 9.7 million to the UK in the two-months time span which is 497.99 and 196.41 percent more than the previous year's figures in terms of weight and value respectively. Steel and iron products, carpet, raisin, and date were Iran's main exported items to the UK. Five countries imported 80.16 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports (in terms of weight) and 69.21 percent (in terms of value) in the first two months of the current year, which started on March 21. China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, and India are the five mentioned countries. Asia with 90.92 percent was the main destination for Iranian goods. Do you have any feedback?
