Japan to Ease Visa Requirements for Chinese from Oct. 17

Tokyo, Sept. 27 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government will ease visa requirements for Chinese nationals from Oct. 17, Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told a Tokyo forum on Tuesday. The government will extend the validity period of multiple-entry visas for cultural figures and business travelers from China to 10 years from the current five years. In addition, single-entry visa requirements will be relaxed for students, graduate students and alumni of designated Chinese universities. Kishida informed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi of the move in April, when they met in China. END
