Japan's Emperor's son, Prince Akishino, receives Southern Governor

Tokyo, Mar. 26 (BNA): Prince Akishino, the son of the Emperor of Japan, received here today Southern Governor, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who is currently on a visit to Japan.
Prince Akishino lauded the effective role played by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to strengthen the solid Bahraini-Japanese relations, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
Prince Akishino also expressed thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa for his key efforts to enhance the existing friendly relations at all levels.
In this regard, Prince Akishino cited the “Japanese Village” event, organised recently by the Southern Governorate in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Bahrain, and its outstanding success in terms of attendance and distinguished Japanese cultural and folklore programmes and shows, praising the governor’s interest in Japan’s culture and history.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa pointed out that thanks to the directives of HM King Hamad, support of HRH Premier and backing of HRH the Crown Prince, the Kingdom of Bahrain has attained multiple local and international achievements in various fields.
He stressed that the Southern Governorate is among the important governorates in the kingdom given its strategic, historical and social importance, adding that the Southern Governorate has hosted numerous international events, initiatives and activities, which, he said, has entitled it to be a favourable tourist destination for the visitors of Bahrain.
Bahraini Ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Al-Dossari, and Japan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Hideki Ito, attended.
