Jeenbekov becomes familiar with measures to minimize risks to economic security

Bishkek, Mar.9, 2020. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic received on Monday Deputy Prime Minister of the country Erkin Asrandiyev. The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Chief of the President’s Office Almaz Kenenbayev, Security Council Secretary Damir Sagynbayev and Health Minister Kosmosbek Cholponbayev, the President’s press service said. Measures on minimization of negative consequences, risks and threats to economic security in connection with the situation on coronavirus spreading were discussed. Deputy PM Asrandiyev said that according to the decision of the Security Council of Mar.3, the Republican Headquarters was established to implement economic measures, aimed at minimizing the consequences of external shocks and stimulating economic development. It was noted that a plan of priority measures has been developed, which includes monitoring of the situation in the markets, measures to support domestic producers, cargo carriers, major suppliers and importers. Erkin Asrandiyev stressed that it was decided to establish similar headquarters at the district level to monitor the real picture on the ground. He noted in general the situation in the republic is stable, there are sufficient stocks and volumes of the main commodity items. Sooronbay Jeenbekov stressed the need to ensure maximum efficiency of the work of the Republican Headquarters. The President reminded that its main task is to develop effective proposals taking into account the analysis of the economic situation in the world, and take appropriate measures on the basis of them by the state bodies. The Kyrgyz leader noted special attention of the Republican Headquarters should be paid to the issues of ensuring food security, execution of the revenue part of the country's budget and interaction with entrepreneurs engaged in production and supply of consumer goods.
