Jeenbekov: Russia is our reliable ally and long-term strategic partner

Moscow, Feb.28, 2020. /Kabar/. "Russia is our reliable ally and long-term strategic partner," Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The event took place at the State Kremlin Palace.
"This year, we celebrate a glorious page in our common history - the 75th anniversary of the Victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War. It is our sacred duty to carefully preserve and pass on to our descendants the truth about the most terrible war in the history of mankind.
We will not forget the courage and resilience of our fathers and grandfathers. The great feat of the Soviet soldier will never be forgotten. Russia's role in defending the truth about the war is great. We fully support Vladimir Putin's efforts to prevent distortion of the history of World War II," the President stressed.
Jeenbekov noted Kyrgyzstan is a sovereign state and an independent subject of international relations. The Russian Federation today is a world power that has an impressive weight in the international arena.
"Russia is our close, reliable ally and long-term strategic partner. Expressing the will of our peoples, we act as a unified position within integration and military-political associations.
These are, first and foremost, the CIS, the EAEU, the CSTO and the SCO. The most important priority for Kyrgyzstan is to increase cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union,: Jeenbekov stressed and noted the huge role of Russia in the process of Kyrgyzstan's accession and adaptation to the Union’s conditions.
