Khalid 5 noble goals commended

Manama, July 29 (BNA): The efforts and initiatives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities were hailed by Mohammed Al-Khoza’ee, the Chairman of the Capital Trustees Board.
Al-Khoza’ee on Friday visited part of the matches of the Fifth Edition of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5), organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the patronage of His Highness.
The league is themed #Generations_Meeting comes as part of the initiative of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa with the participation of 59 teams, the league was launched on July 24 and will continue to September 14.
Al-Khoza’ee commended the goals sought after by organising the league, which he said is a great opportunity to develop the youth and sports movement in Bahrain.
He said that allocating matches for people with disabilities and girls’ teams is an addition to the league and reflects the vision of His Highness to highlight the talents and achievements of these categories.
Fifth day matches:
The fifth day of Khalid 5 futsal matches on Friday witnessed exciting matches between Al Daih club and North Sehla Youth Centre, Zallaq Youth Centre and Al Janoob Youth Centre, Saar club and Al Jasra Youth Centre and Hamad Town Youth Centre and Buquwa Youth Centre.
In the opening match of the day Al Daih won North Sehla by a score of 2-1 within the sixth group matches. The second match ended with a 1-1 draw between Zallaq and Al Janoob. Saar beat Al Jasra by 6-1 in a tremendous match, and in the final game of the day between Hamad Town and Buqauqa ended with 3-3 tie.
Al Daih’s goalie Ahmed Abdul-Ameer, Zallaq’s attacker Mohammed Atiya, Salman Abdul-Redha of Buquwa and Saar’s Bashar Abdul-Samad were chosen as the best players of the day as each one of them contributed to their team’s victory. They were awarded by the organising committee of the league by the end of the day.
The sixth day of Khalid 5 Futsal League on Saturday sees the beginning of the second rounds with four matches within the second and third groups. The matches will begin at 5 pm when East Riffa Youth Centre meets Damestan Youth Centre, while the second match, which begins at 6 pm, will be between Hoora and Gudaibiya Youth Centre and Al Qurayya Youth Centre.
Karbabad Youth Centre and Al Naeem Youth Centre will play the final match of the second group at 7 pm. Halat Al Naeem Youth Centre and Salamabad Youth Centre will play against each other at 8 pm within the matches of the third group.
Al-Maliki offers technical support
Ibrahim Abdulla Al-Maliki, Member of the Technical Committee of Khalid 5 continues to provide technical assistance to the referees and teams in the tournament.
He highlighted the good coordination between the teams, referees and the organisers in regards to commitment to matches’ schedules and the other administrative decisions and bylaws.
Al-Maliki underscored the importance of annually organising the league to continue improving the talents of the Bahraini youth.
He hailed HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his patronage of the league and called upon the Bahraini youth to benefit from such initiatives and opportunities.
Nabeel spreads joy in Khalid 5
Khalid 5 Mascot “Nabeel” is attending the matches of the league and interacting with the audience, adding a fun-filled environment to the tournament. Many spectators love taking pictures with Nabeel, who spreads joy all across the venue of the league, Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
It’s worth mentioning that Nabeel has been approved in fourth edition of the league in 2016. He was named after the best player of the disabled category in the tournament last year.
