King hails national milestone

Manama, Feb. 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today received at Al-Sakhir Palace - in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier - members of the Royal Family, who congratulated HM the King on the 17th National Action Charter (NAC) anniversary. They hailed landmark development achievements in the prosperous era, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless HM the King with abundant health and happiness and Bahrain with security and stability. HM the King thanked them for their good patriotic feelings on this occasion, recalling the honourable stance of the people of Bahrain on this glorious historic day which reflected their will and consensus on the national action fundamentals. "The historic milestone ushered in a new era in the march of joint work and comprehensive development, based on a vision which champions development to achieve progress", HM the King said, describing the charter as a defining and shining moment in the historic annals of Bahrain, heralding new horizons for Bahrain’s future. HM the King said that citizens will always remain the centre of all development, hailing competent Bahrainis who proved their credentials in all international arenas and reflected their belonging, allegiance, patriotism and keenness on bolstering their country’s standing. HM the King commended affiliates of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Interior Ministry and National Guard, hailing their efforts and dedication to protect national security and stability. He paid tribute to martyrs who fell in the line of duty, sacrificing their lives for their religions and homeland, hailing steady cooperation and coordination between the security agencies. He reiterated Bahrain’s determination to continue the march of development and modernisation to strengthen the foundations of civil state on the basis of justice, equality, protection of rights and liberties, respect of the law and the values of moderation, tolerance and co-existence.
