King Receives Certificate Of Recognition From Malaysia Book Of Records

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Book of Records on Monday presented Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah with a certificate recognising the monarch as the first sultan to be appointed the Malaysian King for a second time. Its managing director, Danny Ooi (left), handed over the certificate of recognition to the king at the Istana Negara (National Palace) in Jalan Duta here. Also present at the ceremony was the Malaysian Queen, Tuanku Hajah Haminah (right). Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (centre) was Yang the King for the first time between Jan 21, 1970, and Sept 20, 1975. The ruler was appointed the King for the second time effective Dec 13 last year. Meanwhile, in a separate event at Istana Negara, Tuanku Hajah Haminah was presented a sash to honour the queen as the new royal patron of the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia. Five members of the association handed over the sash to association president Rosmah Mansor, wife of the prime minister, who in turn presented it to Tuanku Hajah Haminah. (photoBERNAMA) MALAYSIA
