Korean Media delegation commends efforts of Sheikha Fatima on Emirati women empowerment

Abu Dhabi, May 3, 2012 (WAM) - The visiting Korean delegation has lauded the efforts of H. H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for the Motherhood and Childhood, on boosting the role of women in all fields. The remarks were made by the Korean media delegation members, while visiting the General Women's Union, where they were briefed about the achievements of Sheikha Fatima and Emirati women. The guests, who include a number of Korean newspapers' editors, are visiting the UAE upon the invitation from the National Media Council (NMC) to tour the historic, tourist, cultural and educational sites in the UAE. Editor-In-Chief of Korea Herald told Emirates News Agency (WAM) in a statement that Emirati woman has scored many achievements in a record time, thanks to the shrewd vision of the UAE leadership, indicating that Emirati woman was lucky regarding the rights she had attained compared to her peers in many other countries worldwide. He hailed the role of the General Women's Union under the chair of Sheikha Fatima, who had contributed effectively to the women awareness and enlightenment. The visiting Korean media delegation attended the celebrations held by the Union in conjunction with the Ministry of Labour to honour the working Emirati women in the private sector on the International Labour Day. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
