Kurdistan Invites Malaysia To Invest In The Country
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysians have been invited to invest in
various fields in the Kurdistan Region, said Kurdistan Democratic Party's Asian
Desk head Abdulsalam I. Abdullah.
He said thousands of companies from the United States, Europe, Asia, Arab
and neighbouring countries had been investing in in the country.
"We are sure we would be in dire need of the foreign investment for a
long time to come, and here I would like to ask Malaysians and all the
interested people, not to be far behind others and enjoy the most flexible
investment law of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
"There is too much in and on the ground in Kurdistan," he said at the
international forum on 'The Politics of Economic and Social Transformation in
The Era of Global Crisis', in conjunction with the Umno General Assembly 2011
at the PWTC here Sunday.
The United Malays National Organisation,(abbreviated as UMNO) is Malaysia's
largest political party; a founding member of the National Front coalition,
which has played a dominant role in Malaysian politics since independence.
The UMNO emphasizes as its foundation the struggle to uphold the aspirations
of Malay nationalism and the dignity of race, religion and country.
Meanwhile, Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League Kazi Zafrullah said
Umno played a dominant role in Malaysian politics and its leadership to secure
the independence of Malaysia from British rule.
He said Malaysia and Umno had not only undergone several metamorphoses over
the last decades but also succesfully evolved in step with historical changes.
"We are confident that the people of Malaysia and prudent Umno would
certainly overcome the vicissitudes of life and sometimes, unexpected global
crises in the years to come," he added.
Workers’ Party of Korea head of delegation Ri Chang Gun said financial and
debt crises spreading across the world was having negative impact in politics,
economy, culture and many other fields, affecting many countries, especially
developing countries.
“The unbalanced consumption, rapacious speculation, monetary manipulation
and all kinds of hot pursuit of interests only result in the collapse of bubbles
in capitalist financial market, causing economic setback that inflicts direct
and ever more serious damage to the people of the developing countries, which is
absolutely unacceptable,” he said.
Ri said the Workers’ Party of Korea would strengthen its cooperation with
other countries in finding solutions to the problems concerning the economy and
social welfare in the country.
He said it was an undeniable reality today that the international community
was focused on finding a solution to the ever-worsening global economic crisis.
“In light of this, our delegation fully supports and highly appreciates the
timely agenda of this forum which deals with the politics of economic and social
transformation in the era of global crisis,” he said.
