Kyrgyzstan receives compensation from Turkish ACT Airlines for the plane crash
Bishkek, March 30 / Kabar /. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic received $ 600 thousand for the special account for the victims of the plane crash from the Turkish ACT Airlines, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Muhammetkaliy Abulgaziev told on Thursday, March 30 following a meeting with representatives of the Turkish company, whose Boeing 747 crashed on January 16, 2017 in Kyrgyzstan.
"The transferred money is part of the amount requested by the government commission for compensation of material damage estimated at a rate of $2,8 million as a result of the air crash. The transfer of the first tranche testifies to the readiness and good will of the Turkish side to pay the corresponding payments. We see their interest in the prompt and fair resolution of this issue," Abulgaziev said.
He stressed that the distribution of money to the victims and relatives of the deceased will be made when the requested amount from the Turkish side is received in full after the details are clarified by the parties.
Abulgaziev said that in general there is no disagreement on the payment of material damage caused to the Kyrgyz side as a result of the plane crash, and payment of compensation to the victims and relatives of the deceased.
At the meeting the sides discussed issues of compensation for the relatives of the deceased citizens, compensation for citizens who received various injuries and compensation for material damage to the state caused by the plane crash.
The First Vice Prime Minister stressed that the parties are ready for an early resolution of these issues.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the insurance company Centil Law, members of the government commission set up to study the cause of the plane crash of the Boeing 747 aircraft headed by Muhammetkaly Abulgaziev, the press service of the Kyrgyz government reported.
Boeing 747-412, belonging to ACT Airlines flying from Hong Kong to Istanbul via Bishkek, could not land at Manas airport and crashed on the nearest village of Dacha-Suu near Bishkek. As a result of the crash, 39 people were killed, including 4 crew members, dozens of houses were destroyed.
