Labour minister receives US ambassador

Manama, June 4 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, received here today the US Ambassador to Bahrain, William Roebuck. They discussed ways to consolidate cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields, especially regarding labour and development of the social protection system. They also discussed the exchange of expertise and successful programmes for the aim of achieving sustainable development. The minister praised the depth of the long-standing relations between the two countries, affirming constant interest in bolstering bilateral cooperation for the common interests of both sides. He highlighted Bahrain’s interest in availing of the USA’s experience in civil and voluntary work to develop projects related to civil work and community partnership. The US envoy lauded the political, economic and development strides made by the kingdom during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era, citing Bahrain’s achievements in the fields of labour and social care, as well as its leadership in consolidating the role of civil society institutions.
