Largest Orchid And Floriculture Exhibition In Northern State

IPOH (Perak, Malaysia), Dec 20 (Bernama) -- The national level Orchid Exhibition and Promotion will be held at the open air car-park of Tesco Station 18 Ipoh (Pengkalan) from Dec 25 to Jan 1. This year's event, organised by the Ipoh Orchid Society, will showcase more than 3,000 types of orchids and other flowers. A statement from the society said they expected about 40,000 visitors. The event is the largest orchid and floriculture presentation in northern state of Perak, participated by 19 commercial orchid and floriculture growers from southern state of Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Terengganu, Penang, Kedah and Perak. Besides orchids and their hybrid species, ornamental plants, ferns, flowering plants, herbs, bamboo plants, fruit trees, bonsai, exotic plants and gardening materials would also be displayed. More than 100,000 pots of orchids and plants will be up for sale from as low as RM5. The exhibition is from 9 am to 9 pm daily and admission is free. (US$1=RM3.18) -- BERNAMA Malaysia
