BANGKOK, July 4 (TNA) - Thailand is ready to comply with a roadmap on a 20-25 per cent greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 obliged under the Paris Agreement and is prepared to present late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's principles at the 40th Session of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), held in Rome during July 3-8, 2017. Thai Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister General Chatchai Sarikulya told journalists on Tuesday before flying to Rome that he will represent the Thai Kingdom at the FAO Conference 40th Session, in which he will also echo the national stance and present the late revered Thai monarch's principles on the mitigation of climate change or global warming through his more than 4,000 environmentally-friendly water and soil management projects. General Chatchai raised some of the royally-initiated projects as including the royal rainmaking, the Kaem Ling flood prevention, the Chaipattana Aerator-driven waste water management, the new agricultural theory and the vetiver grass growing for water and soil conservation projects. The minister said he will also confirm Thailand's stance on support for joint international action against the problem of global warming or climate change, the development of agriculture and food security. The minister revealed that he will also hold bilateral talks with other FAO member countries on agricultural cooperation issues. (TNA)
