Malaysia Conducts Large-Scale Operations After Policemen's Death
Kuala Lumpur, March 6 (Antara)- Malaysia`s police force is conducting massive operations after corporal Raja Aizam Raja Mohd (53) was killed by a foreigner from Indonesia at Taman Sentosa, Klang, Selangor, on Tuesday.
The operations are being carried out by officers of the police force from South Klang and Selangor around the locations of the incident, local media reported on Thursday.
The operations are aimed at foreigners who have no travel documents and possible other suspects involved in the incident.
South Klang`s deputy police chief superintendant Goh Lee Fook said 38 foreigners, aged 30 to 40, have been arrested and 120 others living in shop houses have been questioned.
"Those people who were arrested were not able to show their documents and have been taken to the South Klang IPD for further investigation," he said.
"They include Indonesians, Thais, Myanmarese and Nepalese, and nine of them are female," he said.
Goh said besides checking shop houses, the police has also blocked access roads to seven locations in Kota Puteri, Bukit Indah and Kampung Jawa.
All of the foreigners who were held will be referred to the immigration office for further actions," he said.
Two Indonesian citizens were shot to death after attacking police officers who tried to detain their female friends in Klang and Selangor in Malaysia.
One police officer died after he was hit by a machete in the incident.
The incident occurred when two Malaysian police officers on patrol approached five Indonesian citizens, comprising two men and three women, at Taman Sentosa in Klang on Tuesday morning.
Selangor police chief Mohd Shukri Dahlan stated that according to local media reports on Wednesday, the two suspects, who were killed, had attacked the two police officers who were trying to detain their women friends for investigation.
The policeman who survived in the incident, corporal Aidil Mustafa (29), explained that he met the Indonesians while he was on patrol with corporal Raja Aizam Raja Modid (53).
When they approached them, two of them immediately attacked them, snatched Aizam`s pistol and hit Aizam`s head with a machete.
Aidil Mustafa was saved as the pistol the attacker had directed toward him, failed to function.
The two attackers died after Aidil Mustafa shot them, following a fight with them.
State police chief Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, meanwhile, appealed to people, especially foreigners, to cooperate and explained that the attack was too much.
"This should not be allowed to happen. I warn everyone, especially foreigners, not to attack police officers on duty," he said.
"The act (of attacking police on duty) is too much," he pointed out, after visiting Aidil Mustafa at the Tuanku Ampuan Rahiman Hospital.
The three women who had fled after the incident were arrested along with a man, not far from where the incident occurred.
Deputy Minister of home affairs Dr Wan Juanidi warned that he will not compromise with foreigners who attack officers on duty.
"We must be more careful after this incident, while dealing with foreigners, because they can act brutally and even cause death," he said.
