Malaysian Cuisine,Cultural Shows Win Hearts In Perth

By Neville DCruz MELBOURNE, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysian cuisine and cultural dances won the hearts of thousands of Australians who attended the World of Food Festival at the Government House in Perth, Western Australia (WA). The festival was conducted by the Consular Corps Association of WA, in conjunction with the WA Heritage Council and Government House at its open day last Sunday. Visitors to the festival enjoyed a variety of Malaysian food and were impressed with Malaysian cultural displays. The Dean of the Consular Corps in Perth, Malaysia’s Hamidah Ashari, thanked the WA Governor Malcolm McCusker and his wife, Tonya, for inviting the consular corps to take part in the festival. She said 46 countries had representatives in Perth, of which nine were full- time career posts. "What better way to present our countries than with a food fair and cultural performances," she added. The governor and his wife visited the food booths and sampled satay at the Malaysian stall. -- BERNAMA
