Malaysian DPM On Three-Day Working Visit To Australia Starting Wednesday

From SH Nur Shahrizad SY Mohamed Sharer CANBERRA, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Muhyiddin Yassin will start a three-day working visit to Australia from Wednesday. Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, is scheduled to deliver a public lecture on "Managing Political Change" at the Australian National University (ANU), here where he is expected to share Malaysia's history, secret, challenges and experiences in uniting multi-ethnic and multi-religious citizens in Malaysia to form an independent country. He is expected to touch on the government's initiatives, measures and recent transformation programmes in economic, social and political to transform Malaysia into a high-income nation by 2020. Muhyiddin is also expected to engage with the students attending the public lecture in a 45-minutes dialogue session, said a programme issued by the Deputy Prime Minister's office here Tuesday. He will then fly to Perth, which is about 3,723km, to visit a Sapura Group's project and to attend a briefing session with the Australian Education Ministry on teaching of English to foreign students. The Deputy Prime Minister is expected to meet Malaysian student leaders and attend a dinner with the Malaysian community in Perth before departing for home on Friday. -- BERNAMA
