Malaysian, Indonesian Media Must Disseminate Accurate News

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- Media organisations must be responsible in giving information with the aim of explaining issues or incidents to the people clearly, said Information, Communications and Culture Ministry secretary-general Kamaruddin Siaraf. He said for the Indonesian and Malaysian media, this responsibility must be given serious attention in dealing with issues that may crop up involving the two countries. He said this to reporters after participating in the 'Bicara Rakyat' programme which was aired "live" by Radio Television Malaysia from Auditorium Perdana, Angkasapuri here Thursday night. The programme also invited Indonesian Journalists Association honorary chief Tarman Azzam, Jurnal Nasional Kumpulan Media Indonesia chief executive officer Syamsssudin Haesy and Kumpulan Media Prima Berhad chairman Johan Jaafar to elaborate on the topic 'Media Transformation in the Development of Nation States'.
