Meeting To Coordinate Arab, Muslim Positions On Issues

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- The Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are meeting in Jeddah over two days from Sunday to coordinate Arab and Muslim positions on Middle East related issues in the international sphere. The OIC said in a statement that the meeting will review ways to coordinate the two sides' positions on a number of issues, primarily the Syrian crisis as well as issues related to Palestine, Sudan, Somalia, Egypt, Tunisia and Yemen. The meeting, at the OIC's headquarters, will also discuss other developments in the region, it said. The OIC said the Arab League's visit is in conjunction with the meeting of the second session of the joint committee on the implementation of the cooperation agreement between the two sides. At the meeting, the OIC delegation is headed by its assistant secretary-general for political affairs Abdullah Alim and the Arab League, by its assistant secretary-general for Palestine affairs Mohammed Musa Subaih. -- BERNAMA
