MetMalaysia Issues Weather Alert On Tropical Storm Etau

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an alert on tropical storm Etau which could cause strong winds and rough seas in the waters of the South China Sea. In a statement Monday, MetMalaysia informed that the storm is located 851 kilometres (km) Northwest of Kudat, in east Malaysian state Sabah. "Based on observations on Monday at 5 pm, the tropical storm is located about 618 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and moving west at a speed of 25 km per hour (km/h). "The tropical storm Etau can reach a maximum speed of up to 83 km/h," according to the statement. -- BERNAMA
