Minister Condemns Sexual Violance At Jakarta Int'l School

Jakarta, April 16 (Antara) - Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar has condemned sexual violence against a six-year old student at the Jakarta International School (JIS). "We are all deeply concerned about the incident. We condemn it. It is totally an intolerable act," she retorted in a press statement released on Wednesday. The minister called upon all parents and schools to make sure that children are well protected. She urged law enforcement agencies to probe into the sexual violence. "I ask the law enforcement officers to investigate the case in order to give a deterrent effect," she asserted.
