Minister: Edict to stimulate youth's commercial activities

Manama, Jun. 2 (BNA): Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and Chairman of the Council of Guardianship on the Money of the Minors and their Equivalents, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, said that the issuance of Edict 40/2019 regulating 18-year minors’ establishment of commercial companies is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to invest in Bahraini youth.
The edict is also consistent with the initiatives launched by HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, during the Youth Summit 2018, he said.
The minister pointed out that organising the commercial activities of such an important social group would support the strategy of the Council of Guardianship on the Money of the Minors and their Equivalents to increase the funds of minors and provide ways to enable them to manage their own affairs and meet the requirements of their future.
The minister added that creating an environment that stimulates youth’s effective commercial activities would strengthen the role of the private sector and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the kingdom’s economy, in light of the comprehensive development march witnessed by the kingdom, under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
