MONGOLIA AND LAOS TO DEVELOP TRADES

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ J.Saule, Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, paid an official visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on January 16-22, at the invitation of Liane Thykeo, Lao Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. During the visit, J.Saule was received by Somdi Duongdi, Lao Minister of Finance, and Liane Thykeo, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. At the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed an interest to sustain bilateral traditional ties and trade and economic cooperation. J.Saule also held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos and highlighted advantages of both countries in producing agricultural and animal-originated ecological pure products. Therefore, they agreed to take this advantage and cooperate in developing trades between the two countries, in particular Mongolia’s export of deep-frozen meat, preserved and processed meat products, woolen products and leather items such as military boots whereas Lao’s export of woodwork, rice, fruits and coffee. In the frame of the visit, Deputy Minister J.Saule also met with Dr Bounkong Sihavong, Lao Minister of Health and head of the Lao side to the Laos-Mongolia Intergovernmental Commission and other officials to exchange views on bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
