MONGOLIAN TELEVISION FORUM FOCUSES ON RIGHTS OF AUDIENCE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian television broadcasters convened for the fifth year today at the annual Mongolian Television Forum, held at the Tuushin Hotel. ‘Audience First’ was the main theme for the forum, which gathers representatives of active TV stations in Mongolia to review the past year in television industry, address the existing challenges and seek solutions together. The forum is a main platform to discuss the regulations and independence of the industry, conflicts between the content producers and distributors, the organizers highlight. The fifth forum addresses timely issues such as rights of audience, intellectual property, broadcasting and public interest, the current state of Mongolian media market, broadcasting regulations and legal environment surrounding the rights of audience. The previous forums had shed light on the sustainable development of the industry and value of content. The organizers called for fair competition, increase of educational content in the television industry and production of programs that ensure the audience’s right to information.
