More production of royal cremation coins
BANGKOK, Aug 29 (TNA) -- The Treasury Department increases its production of coins to commemorate the royal cremation of King Rama IX and will receive orders on Sept 18.
Patchara Anuntasilpa, director-general of the department, said that huge demand led to the additional production of gold, silver and copper commemorative coins.
According to him, the additional product will consist of 50,000 gold coins to be available at 50,000 baht each, 400,000 silver coins at 2,000 baht each, and 40,000 copper coins at 3,000 baht each.
Thai people can place their orders at the department’s branches and banks nationwide from Sept 18 onwards.
Mr Patchara said that for the second round of orders, people could order one coin per category and could not repeat orders for the categories of coins they had already bought.
People could continue to order three nickel coins each as before because 23 million coins of this category remained available, he said. (TNA)
