More Russian companies to participate in BIAS 2018

Manama, July 19 (BNA): Transportation and Telecommunication Minister, Kamal bin Ahmed, signed an agreement with the Russian civil and military aviation giant. United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). Under the agreement, UAC will participate in the Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) 2018. The agreement is within the framework of the steady growth of Bahraini-Russian relations at all levels since the successful visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Russian in 2016, where many bilateral agreements were signed. It is also in line with the directives of HM the King’s Personal Representative and the Chairman of the BIAS High Organising Committee, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to attract mega world companies, particularly from Russia, to BIAS, as well as to participate in mega aviation events to promote BIAS and attract participants to it. It is also the fruitful outcome of the outstanding success of the previous four BIAS editions. The minister signed another agreement with the Director-General of GBL LLC company, Irina Aidrous, to promote BIAS and attract Russian small and medium-sized companies to take part in BIAS’ accompanying exhibitions. Other agreements were also signed, including one with the Rostec organisation. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the minister’s participation at the 13th International Aerospace Show (MAKS-2017), currently held at the Ramenskoye aerodrome in the town of Zhukovsky, at the invitation of Russia's Minister for Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. MAKS-2017, in which over 700 companies are participating, was opened yesterday by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. The minister expressed pride in being deputised by HH Shaikh Abulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa to take part in the mega air show. Kamal bin Ahmed met the Russian Industry and Trade Minister and Transport Minister, in the presence of the Bahraini Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sa’ati. They discussed bilateral relations, as well as ways to bolster them in various fields, especially in the fields of aviation, transport and trade. The minister also held a number of meetings with the officials from major participating companies.
