National watchdog participates in Asian programme

Manama, June 18 (BNA): National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR) Legal Researcher Sheikha Al-Aliwi took part in a training programme in Bangkok. The Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions organised the symposium in cooperation with the Danish Institute for Human Rights in the Thai capital. The symposium was attended by officials representing Asian national human rights institutions and international experts. The programme featured specialised work papers focusing on human rights issues. The first phase of the training programme includes a preliminary distance learning stage followed by weekly exams. Successful candidates would then be entitled to take in the second phase which consists in the training programme.
