NEW LIBRARY OF NUM TO OPEN SOON

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A new library of the National University of Mongolia (NUM) will officially open on October 5.
The foundation stone of the library was laid in 2014 and it spent MNT 16 billion for the construction works. Major amount of money allotted from the university’s budget.
The 6-storey library has modern interior and provides a comfortable atmosphere for students to study. Reading rooms are located at 1- 4th floors, while laboratories and lecture halls are in the 5-6th floors. It also includes six reading rooms for natural sciences, sociology, humanitarian science, cyber and electronics. Each room has own interior design and furniture.
“The library has seats for 700 students, but also they are provided with convenient extra space for reading or studying,” underlined Professor G.Tseren, Director of the Library.
“The library collects 500 thousand books and textbooks for students and teachers. It is also open for teachers order books required at lessons,” he said.
“A progress of libraries is measured by the usage of techniques and technologies. In this regard, we made several important reforms in our works. We still have the check-in and check-out system in all reading rooms, and it will be used in the new library too. Moreover, we upgraded the software of our E-library,” G.Tseren said.
Currently, 51 people are being employed at the new library.
