One drowns; two missing in flooding in Sakon Nakhon

SAKON NAKHON, July 29 (TNA) - One person has been drowned while two others are still missing in flash flood that has hit Sakon Nakhon for several days, officials said. Flooding in the province prompted people to hoard food and drinking water as they do not know when the situation would return to normal. Patients travelling to Sakon Nakhon Hospital are forced to go there by flat-bottomed boats or trucks provided by the hospital because the road in front of the hospital is still under floodwater. A temporary field hospital is now established at the city hall. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office in Bangkok has asked people to donate money and necessities to assist flood victims in Northeastern region while MCOT Public Co., Ltd. has also set up a centre to help the victims in Sakon Nakhon province.
