People invited to join mass audience granted by Thai King on Dec 5
BANGKOK, December 1 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has invited people from all walks of life to attend a mass audience to be granted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Ananda Samakom Throne Hall in Bangkok on His Majesty's 85th birthday anniversary on December 5, 2012.
Yingluck told the public during her weekly radio and TV address this morning that His Majesty the King will appear at the Ananda Samakom Throne Hall at 10am next Tuesday to allow people to wish him a happy birthday.
Yingluck said that several other activities will also be organized in Bangkok and all other provinces across the country to celebrate the beloved Thai monarch's birthday, noting that in Bangkok, most activities will be held at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground from December 1-6, including a mass alms offerings to 286 Buddhist monks and a mass running and walkathon in honour of the revered Thai monarch.
The prime minister announced that, as previous years, a mass candle-lit ceremony will be held simultaneously at 7:19pm nationwide on December 5, with the event in the Thai capital to be also held at the Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, to show loyalty to His Majesty the King.
Besides, the prime minister invited people to participate in the Thai Environment Day, which falls on December 4, held at Mueang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok this year, as part of the nationwide celebrations of His Majesty the King's birthday.
The Thai premier urged as well that Thai people help conserve "Thainess" identities through the younger generations, namely the Thai silk. (TNA)
