People paying respects to late King

BANGKOK, Jan 8 (TNA) - Mourners from across the country travel to Bangkok’s Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall inside the Grand Palace to pay their respects before the royal urn of His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. On Saturday, over 44,000 people paid respects to the late monarch and donated a total of 3.9 million baht. Meanwhile, officials of the Fine Arts Department conducted a survey on the southern part of Sanam Luang ground outside the Grand Palace as the department plans to build a fence on 20 acres of land on Tuesday in preparation for the construction of the royal crematorium. In another related development, a large crowd of people are visiting an exhibition in honour of the late King, organized by MCOT Public Company Limited and several other partners, at nearby Thammasat University’s auditorium. This afternoon, several musical bands, including a blind musician group, are schedule to perform songs composed by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. 3,000 calendars with the portrait of the late King Bhumibol for 2017 are handed out for free to the audience.
