Philippine President to visit Thailand March 20-22

BANGKOK, March 16 (TNA) - Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand during March 20-22 as the guest of the Thai government, aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and discuss further cooperation between Manila and Bangkok. Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai told journalists on Thursday that it is the first official visit to Thailand by the new Philippine President since he took office in 2016. During the visit, the Philippine President and Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha are expected to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation between Manila and Bangkok on various issues, namely anti-narcotics, tourism, agriculture and energy. Besides, the Philippine President will meet representatives of the Thai private sector and Filipinos residing in Thailand. (TNA)
