PM chairs event to mark HM the King's birthday anniversary
BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) -- A multi-faith ceremony is held in Bangkok on the occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 65th birthday anniversary.
Ahead of His Majesty’s birthday on July 28, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the ceremony at Government House on Thursday.
The King’s birthday was made a public holiday for the first time this year after he ascended to the throne following the death of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, last October.
High-profile attendees included Cabinet ministers, heads of the military and judiciary and senior state officials. Prayut led them in paying respect to the King’s portrait and singing the Royal Anthem.
The premier then gave a well-wishing message, expressing his royalty to the monarch before performing Buddhist merit-making rituals followed by those of Hindu, Islamic, Christian and Sikh religions. (TNA)
