PM congratulates Srisaket for defending WBC title

BANGKOK, Sept 11 – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha congratulated Srisaket “Laem” Nakornluong Promotion for defending his World Boxing Council (WBC) Super-flyweight title by knocking out Roman Gonzalez of Nicaragua on Round 4 in the United States. Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said that the prime minister admired Srisaket for making Thai people happy and building a good reputation and pride for Thailand. The prime minister was watching the bout closely until the end of the match, the spokesman said. Lt Gen Sansern quoted Gen Prayut as saying that the success of Srisaket and many other people was not fluke but resulted from learning, practices and regular improvement to solve weak points, which all people should copy for the success of their own competition and life. Srisaket was earlier criticized by critics who had claimed his majority decision win in the first fight six months ago in New York was a fluke and the result of accidental head butts. (TNA)
