PM gives moral support to SEA Games athletes

BANGKOK, Aug 9 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha extended his best wishes to Thai athletes before their participation in the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia. Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon, as chair of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, brought the athletes to meet Gen Prayut before their trip to Kuala Lumpur for the SEA Games set on Aug 19-30. The prime minister asked the athletes to do their best in competitions, maintain sportsmanship, present beautiful Thai cultures and respect the cultures of neighboring countries for the reputation of Thailand. “I would like you to apply experiences from the games to improve Thai sports and other areas. I hope you will do your best in your competitions. Stay focused and be wise. I am not ordering you to win but would like you to wish for victory and do your best. I and all Thai people will follow your matches and send moral support to competitions in all sports,” the prime minister said. He also assured that the government was ready to support the development of Thai sports and athletes. (TNA)
