Polish paper highlights UAE's comprehensive progress

Warsaw - December 15, 2011 (WAM) - A Polish newspaper highlighted the progress the UAE is making on domestic development as well as its contribution to development plans in Asian and African countries. Rzeczpospolita, one of Poland's most widely circulated newspapers, said the spectacular 40th UAE National Day celebrations represented a four-decade journey during which the UAE federation transformed itself from a desert community into a modern state which has the world's highest Per Capita GDP (US$50000), as gross domestic product is one of the primary indicators of economic performance. The paper also highlighted the recent decisions by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to set up a fund to tackle low-income citizens' debts as well as to raise wages of the federal government's employees. Recent meetings Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and other officials held with nationals and visiting journalists were featured by the polish paper. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
