Pos Malaysia Issues Stamps With Antarctica Research Programme Theme

KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 (Bernama) -- Pos Malaysia Bhd, Malaysia’s premier physical communications provider will be issuing commemorative stamps and philatelic items with the theme of the Malaysian Antarctica Research Programme this Thursday. Pos Malaysia Stamp and Philatelic Unit head Yasmin Ramli said the stamps would be issued with the cooperation of the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in conjunction with the working visit of the Ruler of East Coast State of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin to Antarctica last November when he was the 13th King of Malaysia. Yasmin said the square stamp would be in the RM0.60 and RM0.90 denominations while the first-day cover envelope which costs RM0.50 each could be found at all Pos Malaysia branches nationwide. In this regard, she urged enthusiasts and stamp collectors to get their stamp collection early as the print was limited and would not be repeated when stocks ran out. Stamp collectors are encouraged to register as Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) to obtain stamps and other philatelic products issued by Pos Malaysia," she told reporters here.
