Premier hails role of GCC legislative councils

Doha, Mar. 1 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at his residence at the Al-Marmar Palace here today, the Speaker of the Qatari Shura (Advisory) Council, Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, and discussed with him ways to enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields. HRH the Prime Minister lauded the steady progress of the Bahraini-Qatari relations, which, he said, embodies the two countries' keenness on strengthening cooperation between them. HRH Premier affirmed that the Bahraini-Qatari relations have gained great momentum thanks to the unwavering support of the two leaderships, highlighting the importance of expanding the frameworks of bilateral cooperation, given their solid ties, as well as their shared goals and destiny. The Prime Minister highlighted the important role played by the legislative councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in supporting the comprehensive development efforts witnessed by GCC states, and strengthening their ability to face the economic, political and security challenges the region is going through. HRH the Prime Minister asserted that his visit to the State of Qatar has provided him with a good opportunity to meet Qatari leaders and senior officials and discuss with them ways to enhance bilateral cooperation at all levels. The Premier stressed the importance of intensifying visits and meetings among senior officials in the two countries as the best means to strengthen bilateral cooperation and achieve the interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples. Qatari Shura Council Chairman expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his interest in developing relations between the two countries, stressing that the Premier's visit embodies the depth of the two countries' deep-rooted relations and adds a new brick to the distinguished relations between the two countries. He also lauded HRH Premier's wisdom and in-depth analysis of the regional and global situation thanks to his statesmanship and rich experience that has had a good impact on Bahrain's progress, as well as the progress of the joint GCC action.
