President Back To Jakarta From Bengkulu

Bengkulu, Feb 10 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono returned to Jakarta on Monday morning after a two-day working trip to Bengkulu. Boarding a presidential plane, the President and his entourage left Fatmawati Soekarno airport here for Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta. President Yudhoyono left Jakarta for Bengkulu province on Saturday morning to attend the commemoration of National Press Day on Sunday. During his two-day working visit, the President inspected the construction of Pulau Baai seaport and the universal health coverage program at the DR M Yunus Regional General Hospital, here on Saturday afternoon. At the M Yunus hospital, President Yudhoyono appealed to all departments to ensure the success of the National Social Insurance (JKN) system that was launched by the Social Insurance Organizing Body (BPJS) early this year. Yudhoyono stated that the government will make every effort to ensure that doctors and medical workers who provide health services under the plan are better compensated, in line with the rising number of patients. On Sunday, the head of state attended the National Press Day and bid farewell to the press, saying, "This is `my farewell speech,` since there will be a new president in October 2014." He noted that press freedom has already been established in Indonesia, and in view of that, he called upon the pressmen to preserve it by using it well. He added that press freedom must be used for the common good and not for the interests of particular groups. According to him, the press has contributed a lot in safeguarding democracy and in supervising the government`s performance to ensure that the work goes on well. "Implementing democracy well and with high quality is good for the progress of the nation," he asserted. Meanwhile, in his advice to media owners who have an interest in politics, President Yudhoyono called upon them to use their media outlets wisely, explaining that a president is not only the people`s choice but also chosen by God`s will.
