President Headed For Pekalongan
Cirebon, West Java, Feb 4 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono left West Java on Tuesday afternoon by a special train headed for Pekalongan, Central Java.
The President and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono arrived at the Cirebon Railway station at 12:45 p.m. and left the station for Pekalongan 15 minutes later on a special train that is scheduled to arrive at Pekalongan station at around 2 p.m.
President Yudhoyono began a four-day working visit to a number of cities in West Java and the Central Java provinces on Sunday.
The President and First Lady left their Puri Cikeas private residence in the Bogor district for Jatinagor in Sumedang district, West Java, on Sunday.
While in West Java, the President visited the Majalengka, Cirebon and Kuningan districts.
On the third day of his visit in Kuningan, the Head of State planted a Kalpataru tree in the Kuningan city forest, inspected teaching and learning activities at the state secondary school SMPN-1, and at PT Galih Estetika.
"If Indonesia has shady forests, God willing we will survive the natural disaster," the President stated while planting the tree.
When visiting the SMPN-1, the President held a dialogue with students studying in the school`s laboratory.
The President also expressed a hope that the students become successful and are well known, both at home and abroad.
"You have to study hard, to obey your parents and teachers and be good among your peers. You must also exercise regularly," the President told the students.
From West Java, the President and his entourage, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto, Health Minister Nafsiah Mboi, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Culture and Education Minister Mohammad Nuh, Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Syarief Hasan, and Forestry Minister Zulkilfli Hasan continued the trip to Pekalongan.
