PT MTJ Strategic In Making Maluku National Fish Barn
Langgur, Maluku, March 26 (Antara) - The presence of the integrated fishing firm PT Maritim Timur Jaya (MTJ) in Tual, Southeast Maluku District, is very strategic in making Maluku province the national fish barn, according to Governor Said Assagaff.
"MTJ is the largest fishing industry in Maluku province as the largest contributor of regional revenue," the Maluku governor stated when accompanying Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa to visit the fishing firm on Tuesday.
Assagaff noted that both Maluku provincial and Tual city administrations will continue to encourage PT Maritim Timur Jaya to increase its operation to help improve the local people`s welfare, particularly fishermen.
"We fully support the operation of this company because it has given its biggest contribution to the improvement of fishermen`s welfare," the governor noted.
According to him, the presence of the fishing company as Artha Graha group network is the embryo to embody the dream of government and the people to make Maluku province the center of national fish barn in the country.
Meanwhile, Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa admired the progress and the investment of PT Maritim Timur Jaya in the fisheries sector in the eastern part of Indonesia.
The minister pointed out that PT MTJ is the most complete and advanced fishing firm, and therefore he is committed to developing large-scale investment in fisheries sector in eastern Indonesian regions.
"PT MTJ is not a profit oriented company because it has social responsibility to address poverty and to improve the welfare of the people, particularly the fishermen," the minister explained.
