Putin Condoles Ahmadinejad On Deadly Quakes

Moscow, Aug 13, IRNA – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday condoled his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on deadly quakes which hit northwestern province of East Azarbaijan. In a message, Putin voiced sympathy with the Iranian government and nation on the event and said his country is ready to offer necessary aid to the victims. Two strong earthquakes leveled villages and damaged homes in northwestern Iran on Saturday, killing at least 180 people and injuring more than 1,350 others, state TV reported. Thousands of people spent the night outdoors as aftershocks rattled the area./end
