QF Radio Celebrates its Second Anniversary Tomorrow

Doha, January 22 (QNA) - QF Radio is celebrating its second anniversary here tomorrow with a special programme and the segment will include an announcement about the station's future plans. Qatar Foundation's Media Center Manager Saad Al Hudaifi, and presenter Fatima Al Dosari, will open the radio station's anniversary celebrations at 3pm with a live two-hour broadcast in Arabic and listeners from over 80 countries who tune in will have the chance to win prizes. Both the Arabic and English segment will take on a similar format, with the same prizes presented to six winners. Popular hosts Scott Boyes and Laura Finnerty will then keep the English-speaking audience entertained during a two-hour live show by asking them a series of amusing quiz questions, and sharing interesting insights and reports. English listeners are encouraged to call in from 6pm to 8pm and try their luck at answering one of the 60 multiple choice questions in less than ten seconds. Those who answer correctly will have their name and phone number entered into a raffle draw. At the end of the competition, three names will be randomly selected from amongst the winners. The first prize winner will receive a round-trip business class ticket to Barcelona that includes accommodation at a five-star hotel, as well as a VIP ticket to watch a Barcelona game at Camp Nou, QF Radio said. The second prize winner will be given a full professional diving suit with all necessary equipment, as well as a voucher for an Open Water Diver Course provided by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). The third prize winner will receive a voucher for the same course. For social media enthusiasts, three additional scuba diving courses will be up for grabs. Participants can answer any of the quiz questions that are posted on QF Radio's Facebook and Twitter pages to qualify for a chance to win. The station's social media profile is steadily rising, with almost 20,000 'likes' on Facebook and around 2,700 followers on Twitter. Listeners who do not feel inclined to participate in the competitions should still make an effort to tune in to the special anniversary programme in order to hear news of QF Radio's ambitious plans for the future. QF Radio is broadcast globally over the internet and covers Qatar on the frequency 93.7 FM from its studios at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
