REGULAR POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS TO BE HELD IN 2020

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On February 22, the State Commission on Population and Housing Census 2020 held its first meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and head of the State Commission U.Khurelsukh. During the meeting, the State Commission approved its Plan of Actions and assigned the National Statistics Office to show professional and methodological support to the Commission and work under unified management and coordination. More issues were also discussed, including establishment of census commissions in aimags and Ulaanbaatar city, approval of their functional rules, creation of unified digital information system as well as others. The regular population and housing census will start at midnight of January 8 through 9, 2020 nationwide and will run for a week. The unified result of the census will be reported in June of the year. It plans to create a possibility to register Mongolians living and studying abroad through online system. M.Unurzul
