Rescue Team Still Searching For Bodies C. Sulawesi Flood Victim

Palu, Central Sulawesi, April 8 (Antara) - The Search and Rescue team is still searching the body of two local people who become victim of flash flood that hit Sigi district, Central Sulawesi, last April 1. Chief of local Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD) Resmin Rasse here on Monday said the two victims namely Ety (40 years old) and Eko (13), both residents of Manggalapi village, were trying to escape the flood but slipped and finally got carried away with the water. Up till now body of the two have not yet found. Flash flood that hit Sigi district last April 1 has damaged several houses and plantation area. According to data from local disaster mitigation agency the flood swept away eight local people, six among them found alive while the rest are still on search. Resmin admitted the search for the two victims is challenging because of the ongoing rain in the area. "The search and rescue team also find it hard to reach the location because flash flood has cut off car access to the village.
