Royal support to equestrian sport lauded

Manama, Mar. 4 (BNA): The UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Abdul Redha Abdullah Al Khouri lauded the interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the endurance race which, he said, represents an ideal occasion for excitement, challenge and power. He said the royal support to the equestrian sport is a boost to the inherent Arab heritage passed down from generation to generation in the GCC countries. He also affirmed that the leaderships’ support to sport and athletes stems from a strong belief in the role of sport in bringing up the youth on inherent Arab values and promoting communication between peoples. The UAE ambassador hailed large participation of the Emirati horseriders in HM the King’s Endurance Cup today, pointing out the interest of the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in this event. He also added that the race was covered live by some UAE sport channels, being a major event in the region. He also congratulated the winners, praising the good organisation of the event which, he said, contributes to further consolidating relations between the two brotherly countries. The UAE ambassador hailed the efforts made by Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Honorary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa and members as well as the technical and administrative committees for their efforts to ensure success of the event.
