Samjiyon Band of Mansudae Art Troupe Performs on Mother's Day

Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- The Samjiyon Band of the Mansudae Art Troupe gave a performance at the April 25 House of Culture on Wednesday, the Mother's Day. It was enjoyed by Kim Yong Nam, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior officials of the party and state, participants in the Sixth Congress of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea (DWUK), women of distinguished services and female innovators in the education, science, media, literature and arts, sports and difficult and labor consuming fields, exemplary mothers, members of the DWUK and female officials in Pyongyang. When "Song in Praise of Women in Songun Era" was played, the artistes appeared on the stage and congratulated the entire audience marking the Mother's Day. Put on the stage were music "Love of the Great Mother", female solo "Unforgettable Echoes over Lagoon Samil", music for cello ensemble "My Mother", immortal famous song, a collection of world famous songs, etc. The performers sang high praises of the noble lives and immortal feats of the great mothers of Korea who held the sun of the nation and peerlessly great sages in high esteem and succeeded to the blood of Mangyongdae and Paektu and devoted all their lives to the country, people and future of revolution. Numbers representing the great favors bestowed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il pleased the audience.
