Saudi Arabia Commends Malaysia's Economic, Political Progress

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture and Information Dr Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khojah has commended Malaysia’s economic progress and political stability which he said is due to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s wise and moderate policies. He made these remarks during a meeting with Malaysian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Omar Al-Saqqaf, in Riyadh on Wednesday, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saudi Arabia's national news agency. According to SPA, Dr Abdulaziz also praised the leading role of Saudi companies investing in Malaysia, especially in the fields of telecommunications and petroleum industries. He cited the pioneering role played by Saudi Telecom and Petro Saudi as well as other companies and emphasised the depth of relations between the two major Islamic countries. Meanwhile, Omar highlighted the success of the Haj season this year, especially Saudi Arabia’s gigantic efforts in providing services to the pilgrims. He commended Saudi-Malaysian relations, saying that Malaysia appreciated the important political role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in maintaining international security and stability. According to SPA, the ambassador also invited Saudi businessmen to invest in Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
