Saudi praises govt on Thai Muslims leaving for Hajj

BANGKOK, Aug 13 (TNA) -- The Saudi Arabian government has praised the Thai government of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha for providing sufficient facilities and convenience for Thai Muslims leaving for the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca this year, said a Thai government spokesman. Spokesman Lieutenant General Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the Saudi Arabian government had lauded the government and related agencies for providing facilities such as its support on arranging direct chartered flights and blessing for those departures to attend the Hajj at three Thai major airports. These arrangements should be considered the new development step for those leaving Thailand for the Hajj, said Lt Gen Sansern. He said the prime minister has attached importance to every religion and wants to see the worshippers, regardless of religion, to unite and help each other because everybody is considered Thai who lives on the same land. Prime Minister Gen Prayut believes these moves would help “creating peace in the society and people could live happily”, Lt Gen Sansern added. (TNA)
